Women’s Boxing has become highly popular over the past decade. Women now compete in 5 different weight classes at the Olympic level.
It is a rewarding sport if you want to get fit and strong and have a great time while you’re doing it. Boxing clubs are really sociable places where you’ll meet loads of people – many of them just like you – and once you’ve given it a go, you’ll be hooked. Anyone can box and you choose the way that you train and the intensity you train at. One thing that’s guaranteed is that you WILL sweat – working out on a heavy bag can burn between 350 and 550 calories per hour, and an hour of boxing in a ring can burn around 750 calories.
Sparring and competition is optional.
